"I can't say enough about the positive impact that doula, Kymberlie Berrien, has had on my family following the birth of our twins. We committed to working with her in advance of the birth so that we would have the opportunity to get to know her and talk through all of our wants and needs before the babies arrived, which helped in both preparing me for the experience and also provided me with peace of mind, knowing that support would be ready and able! I have a four-year-old and two-year-old, who I had also breast fed but, I knew that there would be new challenges and tremendous need for help with the dynamics of having two babies at once -- in addition to two children already at home. Kym respected my experiences as a mother but also offered invaluable advice and guidance when I needed it. She was a true partner in every sense of the word and while always the consummate professional in our home, she also became a dear friend to me. I greatly value her perspective and experience and trust her immensely. Working with Kym helped us establish a routine, maximize sleep (for babies and mama) and empowered me with then knowledge and more importantly, the confidence, to successfully nurse both babies, which was my personal goal. Just like she promised she would, Kym "worked herself out of a job" by helping me ease the babies into a schedule where they began sleeping through the night. And although she is no longer with us overnight, she remains a confidant and extremely valuable resource for questions and concerns now that the babies are almost four-months-old and growing strong. I am confident that she will continue to support me through their first year and beyond that, that we will be friends for life. Hiring Kym is nothing short of one of the best decisions I have ever made and certainly a worthwhile investment in the health and happiness of my family. I attribute much of my genuine happiness during the newborn daze to our time with Kym and her contributions to helping shape the way my family has grown from four to six. I am deeply grateful and wish other mothers the same fulfilling experience."
