I'm Having a Baby!
Congratulations! You are now at least in your second trimester. You've heard your baby's heart beat and have probably felt some fluttering movements from them. For many Mom's their morning sickness has (mostly) abated and their energy has returned. You might even be developing a small baby bump.
In this stage, we're going to focus on 3 areas.
- Hiring the right care provider
- Connecting with your baby
- Helping you have an easier, more comfortable pregnancy
Hiring the Right Care Provider
You may have begun your care with your gynecologist or your fertility specialist. You may have started with the OB who delivered your older baby. Now is a great time to really look at your care provider and see if they are truly the best fit. Each practice has their own "personality" and it's important to make sure that the two of you are on the same page. Do you feel heard? Does your doctor seem dismissive? Does he or she answer your questions with one hand on the door knob ready to leave the exam room? Are you given euphemisms and platitudes (you and your baby can swing from the chandeliers in labor for all I care as long as mom and baby are healthy) or are you given clear, concrete answers to your questions. Do you feel like you are a part of the decision making process or are you told what to do? Choosing a care provider who most closely aligns with your wants and needs for your birth, will be the biggest predictor of your satisfaction with your birth experience. It will be the difference between a birth that happens WITH you or one that happens TO you.
It's important that the birth team you choose is already aligned with your needs and desires for your birth. You want to trust your birth team and feel well supported by them. We'll dive into what your goals and desires are for your birth. You'll figure out what's really important by tuning into the wisdom and intuition that lies within your body. I'm sure your body is already giving you messages about whether your care provider is a good fit for you or not.

Connecting with Your Baby

It's not too early to start connecting with your baby. Learn your baby's rhythms and their individual personality. Notice how they respond to you and their environment. By deepening your understanding of who your baby is as a person, will help you make more confidant and empowered parenting decisions. The early days of parenting can be full of anxiety. Why is my baby crying? Are they tired? Do they need to be held? Am I holding them too much? Are they getting enough breastmilk? Wouldn't it be wonderful to have the tools to confidently understand what your baby needs and make decisions for them? We think wisdom comes from the mind, the brain. In reality, true wisdom comes from our body. When you learn how to quiet the static in your mind, and learn to tune into the wisdom in your body, you will be able to feel much more confidant as a parent.
Having an easier, more comfortable pregnancy

What if I told you there were easy things you could be doing right now to have an easier, more comfortable pregnancy? You don't have to live with all the "normal" aches and pains such as:
- Low back pain
- Round ligament pain
- Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction
- Swollen feet
- Carpal tunnel
